Please join us in welcoming the 2025 James Hubbard Intern for Policy, Colin Reese!
Originally from northwest Wyoming, Colin is a rising senior at Michigan State University (MSU) working towards a double major in Comparative Cultures and Politics as well as Interdisciplinary Social Studies and minors in Science, Technology, Environment, and Public Policy and Environmental Social Science.
Colin is the Director of MSU’s Sierra Club Chapter, which focuses on volunteerism and local advocacy, as well as excursions and outdoor recreation accessibility. He is also involved in the Spartan Housing Cooperative and works as a student writing consultant. Colin spent last summer in Dublin, Ireland with Coastwatch UK, supporting sustainable coastal and environmental resources management through public awareness and citizen science, all while exploring the Irish coast, and gaining insight into how cultural views of resource scarcity affect political change.
In his free time, Colin can often be found outside mountain biking, backcountry skiing, hiking, camping and riding his onewheel. He also enjoys writing, watercoloring, and practicing his violin. Colin is most looking forward to exploring the mission of NASF through a policy lens, aiming to understand how local ecological needs can be best served at a nationwide level.
